Service Description
CUP is hosting a collaborative teaching experience to expand your creative skillset. Nicholas Stevenson illustration tutor at Hereford College of Arts, and Bryony Burn Technical Demonstrator of Ceramics at HCA join forces to deliver a workshop focusing on colour, pattern, mark making and mono printing. Using Nick’s signature illustrative design techniques as a springboard you will create your own designs using a variety of techniques and materials. Bryony will show you how versatile slips and underglazes are when used in your own work. We will look at colour combinations, and how to put them together. Explore how different marks and patterns can be made with slips, and use mono printing to get some really exciting results in clay. Your designs will be slip trailed and painted onto plaster batts. Clay slip will be poured onto the batt, and then lifted to reveal a layered mono print. Simple dishes and relief tiles can be made with your prints. Price includes 3 pieces glazed and fired DATE AND TIME: Saturday May 9th, 10-4pm Maximum participants: 12
