Service Description

Over two hours we will explore different illustrative drawing techniques, which you can be applied for a range of disciplines (ceramic, digital art, drawing, printmaking, painting, animating). We'll explore the idea of developing an original style and how to build on what you already do instinctively. You will draw some fun objects, and figure out ways to tranform them using your eyes, brain, heart and hands! Participants are invited to bring a small object they find beautiful or intriguing, (to draw from) and their favourite art supplies (pen, pencil, ink, brush). Nicholas Stevenson is an award winning illustrator living in Herefordshire. He employs a fun and playful process which combines big brush strokes, sumptuous textures and bold digital colours and shapes. Nicholas enjoys exploring ideas of silliness, magic, joy, shadow, folk, history, nature and mystery. He has worked with clients such as Google, Dell, Intel, Bloomsbury, The New York Times, The Radio Times and many more. Nicholas is a lecturer on the BA Illustration course at Hereford College of Arts. He is also a co-founder of the illustration and print festival CMYK DATE AND TIME: Thursday June 5th, 7-9pm Maximum participants: 10
